From Library Staff

Tips include a cold bath, a lovely glass of bug juice, and screeching a lullaby to get your monster to bed. Just don't ask your parents for help.

A very silly story that I can't wait to read aloud to kiddos. It is cartoony, weird, and sometimes gross (appropriate for a book about monsters). I had some issues with the pacing/flow, but overall, I think this will be a fun read for kids.

I really enjoyed this book. It reminded me of the picture book "How to Babysit a Grandpa" by Jean Reagan! It's a step-by-step manual for putting your monster to bed... however long that may take! I enjoyed the perspective of a young child trying to put something unruly to bed. Young children bring in the element of dramatic play when they put their "babies" or "monsters" or stuffed animals to bed. I recommend this book for ages 3 and up!
