"Disciples of Eno, Ultravox struggled in anonymity for several years before striking a modicum of success with their Vienna record in 1980. In just roughly a decade of initial activity, the group recorded eight proper albums, leaving behind a wealth of experimentation with synthesizers and rudimentary goth-tinged electronica. John Foxx's theatrical vocals and the band's sterilized robotic beats helped set the bar for future electro-pop to come. Stand-out tracks on this collection, like the wiry 'Sleepwalk' and 'Reap the Wild Wind' are prime examples of Ultravox's signature sound, and the group's range is shown on moody, sprawling numbers like 'Vienna' and 'Vision in Blue.'" --
