United Tweets of America
Book - 2008
Welcome to the United Tweets Pageant -- a colorful, tongue-in-cheek competition that features every state bird. From Alabama's Yellowhammer to Wyoming's Western Meadowlark, each bird is a winner -- and each bird loves to show off the state it calls home. As readers brush up on funny state trivia, they will also learn a lot about their feathered tour guides. The contestants' silly remarks lead to some uproarious interactions -- after all, this is a competition, isn't it? Spark an interest in United States history, geography, and, of course, wildlife.

Add a CommentMy 11 year old daughter and I are reading this out loud together. It is a delightful book full of creative pictures and ways to relay info about each state and its bird. There are many opportunities to laugh and to teach about history and culture. Some of the humor is lost on a child (I had to explain why the New Mexico state bird, the Roadrunner, was saying "beep beep") but that is even more reason to enjoy this book together.
great book about my favorite country
