Haven't had a chance to read it myself but my seven year old son's excitement at discovering that I had checked out volume 2 from the library suggests that it merits five stars from the target audience.

A fun, breezy teen mystery-adventure set in Florida during the Cold War with art that really pops. Now on the volume two.

Goldie Vance picks up Nancy Drew's mantle with fun and frivolity! She investigates missing astronauts, foreign spies, and race car saboteurs in 1960s Sunny Florida.

I love the illustrations, but can't recommend this. It is an uninteresting story, of a pampered young teen daughter, ignoring adult cautions, and thereby recklessly endangering herself. It sets a bad example regarding authority and safety.

I loooooooved this! The art is so fun and Goldie is delightful and it hits all the same notes for me that the Eloise books hit when I was little: hotels, girls running the place behind the scenes, friendship, smarts, ADVENTURE.

This is a beautifully drawn graphic novel with cohesive character design, background design and colors. Goldie is entertaining and a real go-getter. It's nice to read a mystery without murder for once.
