“Juneteenth” By, Vaunda Micheaux Nelson and Drew Nelson is a fourth/fifth grade language leveled book. Although it may seem it lures younger readers there are many great pieces of information that really helped me understand the concepts of what “Juneteenth” is really about. I enjoyed how the book includes most necessary information about the holiday and includes opinions about how Black people were treated differently than Whites. I found this book really outstanding because of how it reminded me of how people today are still trying to find equality with the “Black Lives Matter” movements.
