A delightful jaunt through the multiple ways humanity has created to put letters into readable form, from ink on paper to thread on fabric to acid on glass. A good intro to the various forms of written expression.

Good as a general overview of the multitude of lettering processes, both traditional and modern. However, since it "brings together over 130 processes", there is only a page or two dedicated to most.

If nothing else, the descriptions are good enough to help you decide whether you'd like to research the technique more. The author also includes a list of resources in the back, along with websites for most of the artists/artisans featured in the book within the acknowledgements section.
