Will Eisner's graphics bring a lot to the story being told. In this book, Life in a Big City is observed & explored by the author. This is set in New York but could be any large city. There are many touching stories of help and concern. Then there's an exploration of the isolation, crime and exploitation that also occurs. The most poignant and touching explores the Invisible People, those who the City ignores and engulfs, making them invisible to all. How many lonely, hurt, sad people can a city make invisible? Countless. Favorites in this book: The Building and Sanctum. (although all vignettes & stories are good) Well worth a read.
