I really liked that book, because I really wanted to try cooking for myself but always felt a bit intimidated. Reading that book, I realize that it is really quite simple and it helped me with certain things that confused me: like measurements and the cooking words such as roasting, braising and others. It had a lot of varied but useful information about food and was easy to read, as it had great pictures and a great design. One thing that I didn't like as much was how it kept saying "to learn more about '...' go to page '...'". I don't know about others, but I don't like having to flip back and forth in a book when I'm reading. It ruins the flow or something. Otherwise, it is a great book and gave me confidence in my cooking skills (not sure if that's a good thing or not).
