I enjoyed this story of a teen learning to be her true self in spite of family pressure and peer prejudices. The book opens with a visual narratives of Amanda's first seven unmemorable kisses, leading up to an eighth kiss that has more impact and becomes a major plot point. In the mean time, Amanda unravels a surprise family mystery, following a path that begins with suspicion of her father's faithfulness and ends with a pride rally. Stories about multi-dimension Christian teens who question socially conservative ideas, but not necessarily their faith, are rare, and this is a good one. I enjoyed the efficiently achieved depth of secondary characters, even if I failed to see their appeal.
