This was probably the most important documentary of our time. Globalization is turning our entire planet into a Pruitt-Igoe, and few are doing anything about it. This film should be required viewing for every child, educator, politician, city planner...in the US and elsewhere. It is a 'what not to do' guide for not only public housing, but for segregation, industrialized agriculture, city planning and much more. It shows us that the people living in Pruitt-Igoe only wanted one thing: to make sure that their children are safe and healthy, that they have shelter, food, simple comforts, and most importantly: community. These are the basic necessities for human beings to thrive. A little respect and common courtesy also go a long, long way.
