Live From New York

An Uncensored History of Saturday Night Live
Sep 21, 2013
Everyone should be able to relate to this book, because I'm sure in the 30 plus years it's been on TV, everyone has watched this show. It's quite surprising that the authors got the cast members (with the one notable exception of Eddie Murphy), writers, producer (Lorne Michaels) and even NBC executives to be so open and truthful about their perceptions of each other and the show. This book consists almost entirely of quotes, with very little commentary from the authors. The excellent organization and editing are the true tasks of the authors in this case. It's definitely worth reading for a better understanding of the personalities behind the names that we all know.
