This is the final volume in Smiley's Last Hundred Years trilogy. Since only a few of the original Langdon siblings are still alive, this volume focuses on the grandchildren as the story progresses from 1987 through 1919. It also captures our history through their lives as they range from a Congressman to a shady financier to a farmer in Iowa. Just a word of warning -- even projecting a few years into the future can be hazardous as Smiley talks about the Harper government in Canada which ended on 19 October 2015.
