Another great instalment in this excellent series. Kelly has created a cast of interesting & eccentric characters that evolve with each book featuring this rural slice of England where the surrounding fens & water contribute to the atmosphere of each story. In this book, Dryden receives a shock when police inform him his father has just died in a traffic accident. But his father disappeared in a flood over 30 years ago. It's the tip of the iceberg as soon there is much more involved & before you know it, you've come to the last page. Well rounded characters, tight plots & smart dialogue are the norm in Kelly's books. Can be read as stand alone but the backstory & history carried through will reward the loyal fan.
