Two-Spirit and Indigequeer books for teens from Multcolib Teens

[updated 10/2025] Fiction and nonfiction books and other resources for middle and high school teens. Two-spirit is a pan-Indigenous term created by Indigenous folks in 1990. Some now choose the term Indigequeer (also spelled ‘Indigiqueer’) which was coined in 2004. Both terms encompass a wide spectrum of sexual, gender and/or spiritual identity. It is important to note that Two-spirit and Indigequeer are not meant to replace traditional terms, as each tribal nation has specific customs and understandings of gender and sexuality.
