Everybody Reads 2026: Lovely One for Young Readers

Everybody Reads 2026 celebrates Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson’s memoir titled "Lovely One". This book covers her journey to becoming the first Black woman to be appointed as a Supreme Court justice! She shares stories of her family’s heritage, experiences in segregation, learning to channel her voice, and the triumphs and challenges of her career. Created by the Black Cultural Library Advocates team, we put together a list of books with similar themes that aim to inspire youth and teens to chase their dreams, learn about prominent Black leaders and how to use their voice for social change!
