In 1920s Oklahoma, the discovery of oil during the annual "flower moon" phenomenon brings extraordinary wealth to the Osage people. But into their world comes ne'er-do-well army veteran Ernest Burkhart (Leonard DiCaprio), who joins his duplicitous uncle (Robert De Niro) in a horrifying scheme to rob the Osage of their money and land. Mollie Kyle (Lily Gladstone), an Osage woman whose family owns oil headrights, finds herself in the middle of the plot.
